Will this slow down my internet? Usually not for local/private traffic. Gateway routing only applies when you choose it.
Does blocking work outside the browser? Yes. Shield rules run at the network layer, so they apply across apps on your device.
Can I choose where traffic exits? Yes. Pick a gateway region when you want to control egress location.
